Hopefully next time I use this same concept for a post that I do better. Here I created titles for my Special Reports. I made it a thumbnail gallery because the idea is that I want it to act as if you’re flipping covers to the next.

You can also find these blog posts by on my menu tab.

This is my submission for Weekly Photo Challenge: Cover Art.

I used a free app called Phonto.

The Sophomore Slump Recommends

Movie: Silence of the Lambs – “I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.” … ‘nough said.
Music: American Idiot by Green Day – A conceptual rock opera that begs you to listen to it from start to finish (except for last track – not really part of the story). It includes two 5-part epic songs, both in time lengths and brilliance, “Jesus of Suburbia” and “Homecoming”. It’s no wonder this album was turned into a musical.

    • Yes. Nice vision, milu. I was going to something similar to that (the fonts choices are limited), but that “blue” concept really dominated my thought process in making it.

    • It was not easy task. The actual work is not a lot, but the thought process and finding and picking the right app was hard. I had so many approaches on how I was going to do this. I actually come up with turning it into video, but I felt like I was overdoing it so I stuck with a simple version. I really wish to do better next time.

    • Close Edelweiss. Hohenschwangen is by the entrance. This castle is the Neuschwanstein.

I tried to recreate the original logos for The Amazing Race and The Jelly Experience in Monterey Bay Aquarium.

    • I actually uploaded a bunch of apps with the different ideas I had. Nothing came close to Phonto. All ended in frustration except Phonto. And yes, it’s amazing that it’s free and not much annoying pop-up ads like the others.

  1. I tried to pick a favorite but I just couldn’t ! All of them are outstanding in their own unique way. Such a fascinating way to depict this challenge. Love it Rommel. It was such a treat to look at all of these covers 🙂

    Have a great weekend ❤

    • Phonto. It’s really awesome. Will be doing more posts like this. You should try this on yours. I’m not sure if the app is available for cellphone as I used my ipad for it.

  2. Love these cover shots…very creative and just fantastic photography, but you had me at “I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.” 🙂

  3. Fantastic concept and beautiful work! 🙂 You must’ve really put a lot of time and energy into these. I caved and paid a small amount for a font app called “Over.” It was a $1.99, but so much easier to use. Also, have you seen picmonkey.com or canva.com? They’re quite good for these types of things and best of all, FREE!!! 😀

    • You bought it!!!??? Nah for me. Too many work-able apps that are for free. But I tell in confidence, it was tempting for me to purchase too. 😉 Thanks for telling me about picmonkey.com. I’ma use it next time I need texts on my photo.

  4. I’m loving the fireworks! 🙂

In my total ignorance, it occurs to me that you would be a good person to ask about Instagram and apps. After my old phone went for a swim I got a smart new fella who’s ashamed to be seen out with me. I intended to use Instagram and have taken a few tentative shots with it, but I’m so in the habit of downloading to my laptop from my camera. I like to see what I’ve got before I publish. You obviously tinker about with yours (and have fun). Do you download them somewhere first? Or just ‘shoot and show’? Sorry to be so slow! 😦

    • Sorry for the late reply. I’m a forgetful person. I read this comment. Just didn’t have the time to reply.

Most of my pictures, as in most, are uploaded to Facebook. After I upload it to Facebook, I save the pictures again whether using computer, cellphone, or iPad. Then I upload it on wordpress.

With Instagram, you can also save the picture you just processed on your phone. If you have the wordpress app, you can immediately upload the saved picture to wordpress. If not, you can upload it through Facebook, save to computer, then to wordpress.

Don't be shy to say hi.
