Your images are breathtaking Rommel. When we lived in Washington DC, my favorite time of the year was to go down to the mall when the trees were in bloom. I was just telling Terry the other day that I wish we were going to see them this year but would not be in DC early enough, then I opened your post…delightful! 🙂
Japan particularly gave the 3000 cherry blossom trees to Washington D.C. Cherry blossoms grow mostly on elevated areas or nearby waters. Hopefully, I get to see some in SD or LA this March or April.

It’s been raining here in Okinawa affecting the cherry blossoms. Their bloom was not as full as you usually see in pictures. Still, they are indeed an amazing sight.

Oh, the cherry blossoms are so pink in Okinawa! Are they like that all over Japan? In Korea, the cherry blossoms are so pale, they look almost silvery…
I have to come clean that I manipulate the images with its saturation, but never of hues or tint and textures. I had to. The flowers were not in full bloom, plus it was raining on and off that day. Cherry blossoms, as you may know, are white and pink. That’s still detectable in my images. I don’t know about being it almost silvery, but a lot of the pictures I took but didn’t share do look pale.
Heh heh…sorry to “out” you. 😉 I think we all edit our images a little bit, don’t we? You gotta, especially if you’re not a professional photographer and know all the tricks of light and shadow.
Rommel, I must say that this is your most beautiful post! It does seem early for Sakura to be in bloom! Did you ever say how come you’re in Okinawa and how long you’ll be there? How do you get text in your photos?

I got a decent amount of time here. Enough to see the places I really wanted. The only thing os that I didn’t have much time (nor ways to get around) for the mundane things or regular places. Nago’s Cherry Blossom Festival Parade is so cool because it encompasses a lot of Okinawa culture.
It isn’t any wonder, is it, Rommel? Their fragility and short lifespan is so compelling! Even here in Hartlepool I go skipping down the street when it’s blossom time of year 🙂

I have cherry trees at Casa Debbio. I will appreciate the blossoms much more when they appear.

Ow, DC holds festival for cherry blossom as well just like here in Okinawa. The bloom must be very full over there when it does.
